I read all the reviews before buying and decided to gamble on the high wattage and overhead fan.This was my 1st dehydrating experience.I used the max # of trays (12).The instructions say potatoes cut to 3/8 should dry well within 12 hours and its not necessary to rotate trays…and i didnt since i didnt know exactly what they were talking about.It took 23 hours for 3 trays worth to dehydrate! 4 more trays worth came off in 3 more hours and the last trays off 28 to 29th hour!!.I ran it at 160 for 2 hours then 127 for the remainder.I know thats a little under recomended temperature but 29 hours???? Miscealaneous pieces dried on each tray.Top tray seemed moist while 2nd tray dried best.Middle trays very poor.2nd from bottom better (bounce?)I reconstituted some of my potatoes next day.Boiled water,let them sit in it 2 hrs then fried in micro as usuual.They looked a bit odd reconstituted,Fried much faster and tasted peculiar…likke theyd been absorbing something from inside…Im going to give this more chance using higher temp,thinner slices and rotation but this is not as described!!I dried 10lbs (30 tatters) into 32.Recomendations welcome

This is a wonderful product, it is so easy to use for first timers. The booklets enclosed give great information to help with temperatures and time that are accurate and make the food turn out great. Delicious! Great way to preserve excess garden treats. It came with a handy guide with recipes and information. I have not tried jerky yet, but the power on this seemed to work very quickly for fruits (and probably veggies). Easy to clean and includes lots of trays, including optional screens and a tray for rollups.
